PhD Survey: Barriers Faced by Science Teachers

STAT periodically receives requests for assistance from PhD students conducting surveys as part of their dissertations. A committee reviews these requests and determines whether to publicize the survey to our community. This message is from a PhD candidate at Texas Tech who is conducting a survey on the barriers science teachers face when teaching about issues such as climate change. Please consider taking the survey: https://educttu.az1.qualtrics.com/j…/form/SV_5iQXWwcksVlcE1n

Hello,

I am a Ph.D. Candidate in educational psychology at Texas Tech University. I am also a former high school science teacher (biology, chemistry and environmental science). For my dissertation, I developed a survey to help explain the barriers science teachers face when tackling tough political issues in the classroom like climate change.

The survey is completely anonymous and has been approved by the IRB at Texas Tech University. Please take 20 minutes to help out science teachers in the United States!

Here is a link to the survey: https://educttu.az1.qualtrics.com/j…/form/SV_5iQXWwcksVlcE1n.

Please complete the survey and share it with other networks and K-12 teachers to increase the sample size.

Thank you for your support and time,

Best,
Casey Williams
